Dr Huebl graduated from Adelaide University in 1976. After working as a Dental Officer in Royal Australian Air Force in Wagga Wagga from 1977-79, he purchased a Dental Practice in Dec 1979, which is now know as the Riken Dental Group .

From the early days, Riken has been modelled on three principles:

Function:

  • Dr Huebl co-founded the Occlusal Studies Group in mid 1980’s.
  • Was first user of Cerec technology in Australia in Dec 1990

Cosmetics:

  • Member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry — 1988 — 1996
  • Co-founded South Australian branch of Australian Society of Dental Aesthetics in 1998

Prevention:

  • Has worked with Dental Hygienists for his entire career

Dr Huebl has remained in touch with the University of Adelaide community through his past involvement in the Homeless Dental Clinic at Common Ground, becoming Chairman of the CPD (Continual Professional Development), as well as holding a position on the committee of the Dental Research and Education Fund (DREF).

Dr Huebl’s favourite sport is golf and he is an avid member at both Royal Adelaide and Victor Harbor golf courses. He has been married to Debbie since 1978 and has son Paul (wife Susan Babidge and children Helena and Joseph) and daughter Meagan (son Ezra)

Dr Meagan Huebl

Dr Meagan Huebl decided to follow in the family tradition of dentistry, having graduated from the Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Adelaide in 2010. Prior to this, she graduated from a Bachelor of Science in 2005. Meagan is passionate about dentistry; she is currently a member of the ADASA Council. She is interested especially in anterior restorations (aesthetic), CEREC porcelain restorations, and dental implants. Meagan is also qualified to treat patients with Sleep Apnoea.

Aside from dentistry, Meagan enjoys spending time outdoors with her son and two dogs. She enjoys travelling in both her local area and abroad.

Dr Nigel Chipperfield

Dr Nigel graduated  from both King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry (London) and the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 1989. Having attained his qualifications for Board registration, Nigel continued his academic studies to be awarded a Master of Science Degree in Dental Public Health and Diploma in Dental Public Health from the Royal College, London two years later.

Nigel has 30+ years experience working in all the major fields of dentistry; has taught and led clinical teams in hospitals and regional centres in the UK.

Nigel moved with his family to Adelaide in 2008, where he has worked in both private general practice and held senior clinical roles with the South Australian Government.

Nigel provides general dental services to adults with a particular interest in prevention of dental disease.

He has wide experience in the provision of restorations, fixed prosthodontics such as crowns, bridges and implants, and endodontics (root fillings). Nigel has continued his professional educational development, most recently studying for a certificate in neuroanatomy with Cambridge University (UK).

When not working, Nigel loves time spent with family, discovering regional South Australia, gardening and conscientiously failing to train his stubbornly wilful rescue dog.

Dianne is an Oral health Therapist and she graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2010. She is passionate about preventive dentistry for all ages, and has a friendly and empathetic approach to her work. She believes that having good habits in dental care is a great investment for future overall general health and oral health.

Her interests outside of dentistry include cooking, travelling and spending time with her family and pets.

Ikumi Kaneko

Ikumi Kaneko

Ikumi moved to Australia in 1988 from Tokyo, Japan, and has practiced as a Dental hygienist at Riken Dental Group since she graduated from TAFE Gilles Plains after acquiring her dental hygiene diploma in 2003. Ikumi is especially enthusiastic about her patient’s psychological risk factors such as quitting smoking, dietary issues and stress. She also really enjoys looking after the oral health care of children.

Outside of work Ikumi has a strong passion for Karate and her cats.

Tricia Tuffs

Tricia graduated in 1992 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and has worked in both general and specialist dental practices. She has also tutored Dental Hygiene and BOH students over the years. Tricia has been with Riken now for the last 18 years and in that time has developed a wonderful rapport with her clients. She has a special interest in dental care for the elderly but also the treatment and prevention of gum disease.

Outside of work Tricia enjoys jogging, going to the movies, walking her two dogs and travelling.

Soheila Khodabandeloo

Soheila moved to Australia in 2012 from Iran, she has a long-standing history in the Public Health sector with a goal of working within the dental industry. In early 2023 she graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Oral Health and practices with us as a Dental Hygienist.

Her passion is to offer a comfortable and an informative experience with patients and a caring approach to those of all ages. Soheila appreciates staying current on the newest research and developments through industry events and training.

Outside of practice Soheila enjoys spending time with family, hiking, zumba classes and exercising at the gym.
